Still lookin' for the party....

So...where was the place to be seen last night for the big Superbowl game? Clearly not in my living room as I was the only one who happened to be in attendance at that particular location. What do the fine people of Morris do for the Superbowl and other such events? Is this one of those 'gather at the bar' occasions or is the trend to gathering at someone's house?

And speaking of bars? With so many to choose from in town, could someone fill me in on the protocol? Where do I go if I want company? Where do I go if I'm just in it for the booze? Is there a dance bar here? Are all the rumors about 312 true....and will the new owners keep it up? Seriously, the choices (as well as rumors) are overwhelming.

And if anyone wants to share that secret back room knock....

ok here's the deal on the bars:

Fools, Lagoons - slutty 20 something chicks and wigga wannabes (most of whom have never left this town and whose family trees only have one branch mixed with middle aged fat guys and ugly grammas trying to relive their Morris youth. Same with Red Cent as it's owned by the same guy and the patrons walk back and forth between the two. This is their idea of a ripping good Saturday night.

Brandts and VFW - white trash and biker types. Don't even bother.

Griffins and Bogeys -losers, old drunks and sluts all the way around. Dive Dive Dive.

Ebbys - Usually the ex cheerleaders, fb players and preps who still talk about HS, years after they left. (can you say get a life?)

Bottoms Up - underagers and those who just turned 21 looking to get laid by some drunk booze hound.

Letsee, did I miss any? Oh yea,
Chapins and 321 - The 30-50 something "professionals" trying to look important and upscale.

Claytons is the only place that has potential, but when all you have to draw from is losers from this county, it aint saying much.

One last thing - coke and drugs. And that pretty much goes for all of em.

Hey 10:45, you really get around, I could use someone like you.

Thanks for the breakdown 10:45. Are drugs/coke/etc. really that big of an issue here? And I thought I moved into a nice, wholesome, family oriented town... Geeze...next thing I know, you'll be telling me there is a swinger's club right downtown... Seriously, though, I must be too naive. Guess I'll be staying away from the bar scene in town.

Hey bubba,
You don't need ME. I head to the burbs and the city when I want a night out. There are plenty of Morris born and bred ho's in the bars for you to choose from. Unfortunately, most of them are unwed, work at Mcdonalds or Taco Bell and have a slew of small kids.
Good luck!

10:45 sure knows her way around the bars in town. She must be a regular.

You dont have to be a "reg" to know what the bars around here are about. All you have to do is live here and talk to people who ARE regs. DUH.

I think 312 shut down. The place is papered up and theres a dumpster out front. Whats gonna happen to the swingers club now?

who cares about the swingers club, they got their own pad now. I can't wait for the new "Sports" bar to open. Bus Stop, or whatever it's going to be called...we really need a "sports" bar in this town.

just what we need. Another BAR. One more choice for all the alcoholics and druggies in this town.

4:46 must be one of the bar owners to get so pissy at 10:45's TRUE comments.

Anyone know when the new sports bar (at 312)is due to open? I heard that he bought Apple Butter next door and tore down the wall between the two. Watch out Frank!

The Bus stop is due to open in about 3 weeks. And as for as the other bars go, Tell me in what town across the U.S., that the same people, the same thing isn't going on? There is one really great place if you want to go have a nice drink, and be able to have a decent conversation.Plus a lot of very nice and good people go there, I'm talking about the Eagles Club...

Three weeks? Try August. And what's the name of this new bar which opened up where the old "Fools" was?

I see the new sports bar at 312 is called the "Sandlot" NOT the "Bus Stop". Heard they put in an elevator too. Fancy.

What's the deal with there being a swingers club in Morris...and what's "The Key Club" I've read about in some of the other blogs?
