Hospital Ball, Correspondent Needed

The grand Morris Hospital Auxiliary Ball is coming up. Sadly, I was not able to secure an invitation so I shall have to relive the event through the dazzling pictures and commentary in the Morris Daily Herald for yet another year. Maybe next year my blogsphere popularity will boost me into the ranks of those welcomed to participate in the festivities. I really would like to go...

If anyone is lucky enough to go, keep good notes! I'd love a guest post from you with an update on THE Morris social event of February. Drop me an email at socialmorris@yahoo.com if you're interested in this poorly paid, yet emotionally rewarding guest blogger position.

Welcome, Social:
Guess we're the first to comment...You do know, of course, that the only qualification for entry to the Hospital Ball is money; that is, you don't get an invitation unless you request one, or you already give money to the right organization(s) that share mailing lists. Once you get invited, you still have to pay to get in. So really, your only excuse for not attending is not being able to afford it. Better start saving now for next year.

I have a problem with giving the hospital money when they are squandering it. The ball is for big frogs in a very small pond. Lots of the people who attend exemplify the opposite of my philosophy -- "Take your profession seriously, but don't take yourself too seriously."

You are here by invited to attend red carpet night at Chapin's on October 24, the cost is $60 per person in advance $75 at the door. The money goes to support We Care of Grundy County a fantastic organization who is always looking for volunteers and may be a great place to find new friends if this is your sort of thing.

The money from the Hospital Ball keeps sending the Hospital Board and spouses to seminars at exotic resorts where most of us couldn't afford a glass of water.

Exotic resort comment may be cynical, but true.

It's so funny to see certain people at the Ball who have no business being there. I guess they just feel like being someone they're not for a night.
